Inspired by the philanthropic efforts of New York Islanders Captain Anders Lee, Community Health will partner with the 11th Grade Peers As Leaders classes to host the first-ever Syosset High School "Kancer Jam" fundraising event on Wednesday, June 3rd on the football field at Syosset High School!
When Mr. Esposito and Mr. Graziosi heard about the “Kancer Jam” we wanted to get involved. Mr. Esposito felt a special connection to the fundraiser because of his Uncle Paul. His Uncle Paul and Aunt Beverly would take him and his sisters out every Christmas Eve while their parents set up to host that evening. They would always have a great time going out to eat, going bowling or to the arcade before the family would all get together for Christmas Eve. This tradition is still carried on today, sadly without Uncle Paul who tragically passed away from cancer in 2019. Uncle Paul was a huge Islanders fan, an annual season ticket holder and witnessed them hoist the cup in person at Nassau Coliseum. When he wasn’t at the Coliseum he cheered on from his living room where he had to replace a few remotes over the years when things weren’t going their way.
In honor of Uncle Paul, Mr. Esposito has partnered up with Mr. Graziosi to Jam Cancer!
