4th Annual Franco Strong Hockey Kancer Jam!

In January of 2021, Franco Monnecka, a then 11 year -old hockey player for the Secaucus Patriots, was diagnosed with a rare form of Hodgkins lymphoma. He immediately began treatments at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City, and underwent 3 surgeries and multiple rounds of chemotherapy. We're happy to report that Franco is now cancer-free and is back on the ice playing the sport he loves at Saint Peters Prep High School in Jersey City, NJ as well as his beloved Secaucus Patriots team.

Determined to give back to those who supported him throughout his ordeal, Franco selected the Jam Kancer In The Kan Foundation as the beneficiary for the 2nd annual Franco Strong Hockey Kancer Jam tournament, which took place in February of 2022 and saw 10 teams compete and raise over $25,000! In 2023, 22 teams competed in Franco Strong Hockey Kancer Jam III and raised over $31,000 for children affected by a kancer diagnosis!

On September 16th, 2023, in honor of his continuing efforts to help families affected by kancer, Franco was officially recognized as a Jambassador for the Jam Kancer In The Kan Foundation by New York Islanders Captain Anders Lee.

Now an Annual tradition, the 4th Franco Strong Hockey Kancer Jam is taking place in February and March of 2024 and will feature hockey players from 7 year old Mites to 18 year-old High School Varsity players coming together to raise money for children affected by a kancer diagnosis! The festivities will feature a special Homecoming/Kickoff game between Franco's St. Peters Prep team versus Xavier High School on the main ice at the Prudential Center In Newark on February 13th! All remaining games will take place at the Secaucus Ice rink in Secaucus, New Jersey as follows: High School Junior Varsity- February 19th, 24th & 25th, Mites-March 1st-3rd, Squirts- March 8th-10th!

To enter your team, please make your tax-deductible donation for the age group you are registering ( High School JV- $600 ,Mites - $700, Squirts-$900). You will receive an email from the tournament director shortly after making your donation.
